North Carolina State Road numbers
This week we continue our NC Icons series with loggerhead sea turtles, number nine on Our State magazine’s 100 North Carolina Icons list. Loggerhead sea turtles are an endangered species that nest along North Carolina’s coast (and as far south as Florida and north to Virginia). The State Library of North Carolina has additional information on loggerheads and other endangered species in North Carolina.
Our State magazine writes, “Turtles nest on our Carolina beaches from May to August, with eggs hatching between July and October. On the coast during that ...s.” As hatching season begins, we have two books that will teach you and help you explore the loggerheads’ habitat (and remember not to disturb the nests).
For some years, The Nature of North Carolina’s Southern Coast: Barrier Islands, Coastal Waters, and Wetlands has stood as an essential resource for all who treasure our coastal environment. In this book, Dirk Frankenberg describes the southern coast’s beaches, inlets, and estuaries and instructs readers in the responsible exploration and enjoyment of some of North Carolina’s most precious natural areas. From Ocracoke Inlet to the South Carolina border, this field guide provides a close-up look at a complex ecosystem, highlighting the processes that have shaped, and continue to shape, North Carolina’s southern coast.

Social security benefits are exempted from attachment by 42 US Code 407.
Depending on what you mean by 'retirement', the income may be exempt. If it's an IRA, it's exempted by North Carolina General Stautes 1C-1601. Likewise, several other pensions and retirement annuities are exempted.
Of course, I would suggest checking with an attorney in your state regarding whether or not there are further precautions you should take in order to ensure that these funds will remain exempt from garnishment (if deposited in a bank account, for example.)

Yeah, take the train over. Stay the night. Visit the old Chinese scholar's houses -- The town was at the end of "The Grand Canal" (actually, great transportation waterway in Chinese) that was built to take rice from the south to the Beijing area to support troops to protect China from invasion from the north.
Suchow itself became a retirement center for mandarins -- officials in the govern... to Lu Hsun's house -- no one ever does, and it's a museum supported by the State. If you don't know who he was, read "The Story of Ah Q"...It's a great way to get into an unrestored house in the French Concession. I stayed for half a day... the staff (none of whom spoke English) wanted to know about western attitudes to Lu Hsun. I lied -- but when I left they were walking tall.

North Carolina is a 50/50 state and I think that if a spouse commits adultry, they should not be entitled to 50% of the marital assets. If the spouse has an affair they are still entitled to half your 401K, retirement, your house, car or any other asset of any worth. That is just not right. Do all states have the same law?
